At MEG International, we've designed our intake process to provide an efficient method of assisting ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWI) from Mexico and Latin America such as yourself with their complex business planning, estate planning, and family office needs.

When you reach out to us to request a consultation, you'll receive an email with a link inviting you to schedule a phone call or video conference at a time that is most convenient for you. Our consultations are typically scheduled one week in advance, but we may be able to accommodate urgent requests if you are dealing with a pressing legal need.

Once you schedule a date and time, you'll be asked to confirm your appointment with a payment of $650. If your payment is not received within 24 hours of your appointment, the consultation will be canceled.

Why Is There a Charge for the Initial Consultation?

Like many other firms offering professional services such as medics and financial advisors, MEG International Counsel charges a fee for the initial consultation. This fee compensates us for the time we devote to reviewing your case and advising you on your legal options, in addition to covering our general practice overhead. Most importantly, however, it allows us to ensure that we are giving each case due diligence and enough attention to protect the client's rights in any situation.

The $500 fee for the initial consultation will be credited to your account if you decide to retain MEG International Counsel for your legal needs. If you do not retain our services, this payment will not be refunded or credited.

Who Will I Be Meeting With?

MEG International Counsel prides itself on providing personalized service. Contrary to other firms' protocols, one of our partners, Antonio Gastélum or María Elia Gastélum, will be the ones to directly handle your consultation and any other concern throughout the entire process. Antonio is licensed to practice in Texas and Mexico, while María is licensed to practice in Mexico and California.

What Happens During the Consultation?

Your consultation will be scheduled for 60 minutes, but the time required will depend on the complexity of your legal needs. Consultations can be conducted in both English and Spanish, so please feel free to request whatever language makes you feel most comfortable. We frequently work with a client's existing advisors, so any current professionals you are working with are welcome to attend the meeting.

The goal of our conversation is to provide clarity on the matter you bring to us, and determine whether or not we are the appropriate advisors for you. For example, if you are interested in working with our firm to manage your assets and ensure that your intentions for them are carried out after you pass away, we will discuss your estate planning objectives and any concerns you have. We will outline ways we can be of assistance, such as drafting wills, setting up trusts, creating powers of attorney, inheritance tax planning, and implementing asset protection strategies. We will also identify any potential pitfalls and explain how we can help keep your financial affairs in order throughout your life so that you are prepared for anything that might come down the line.

At the end of the consultation, we will allow you to ask questions and ensure that you have a complete understanding of all your options before making any decisions.
